Pros
For us, both scent and long-lasting effectiveness are top priorities. Luckily, Dove fits both of these criteria with ease. Cool Essentials smells fresh and clean, but it isn’t overpowering. It lasted well into our workday, and left a clean burst of fragrance whenever we stood up. When evening rolled by, we were still feeling dry and smelling great.
Cons
Since the product is a white solid instead of a clear gel, it left a mark on one of our tester’s black t-shirts. This, of course, is easily avoided by waiting a minute or two for the product to absorb before putting on clothing, but it’s still a factor to consider. Having tested gels in the past, we found we preferred the solid formula, but Dove also makes a great aerosol option that you may want to try if solids aren’t for you.
Overall Impression
We really liked the product, plain and simple. With so many different scents, it’s easy to find one that best appeals to you. Even better? The product works just as well as it smells.
Beyond providing products that work, we also love Dove for their mandate of embracing beauty in all shapes and sizes. This is especially visible in their “Self-Esteem Project”, which is actively working to help girls overcome beauty-related anxieties.
