With coffee aficionados often sharing their favourite brewing methods, you may have noticed the increasing popularity of the Pour-Over Coffee. Although it’s not unusual to find your local barista offering deliciously handcrafted pour-over coffee, there’s nothing better than doing it yourself and being a part of the process.
Armed with a few simple tools and your favourite ground coffee, you’ll discover that pour-over brewing is an enjoyable way to bring out a coffee’s true flavour quickly and efficiently. No barista skills required.
Melitta invented the Pour-Over method over 100 years ago and like the rest of their products, they accomplished this with one goal in mind- to help you make THE perfect cup of coffee (so that you can make the most of that ten minutes you set aside just for you). Their pour over method is a quick and convenient way to hand craft a superior cup of coffee within seconds.
I routinely go through large amounts of coffee. Given the size of our cups, my wife and I could split a pot of coffee in one cup each. However the result was, that when my wife started to cut out coffee, I needed to find a better solution. while I have used trian and error to cut the coffee in half, this creates an even better option because It allows me to pour just what I need instead of overdoing (or under doing) what I Make
This was my first time trying the pourover coffee brewer method. I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first. The results....a delicious tasting coffee without all the hassles of a traditional one-cup brewer.
I'm a HUGE lover of coffee, so when I was asked to try the Melitta Pour Over Coffee Maker, it was a match made in caffeine heaven! I can't drink a pot of coffee on my own (otherwise I would be hyperactive all day long from the caffeine high!) What I love about the pourover system is that I can enjoy my coffee one delicious cup at a time. If you are like me, this coffee maker is perfect for you. It's incredibly easy to use, and the mess is minimal. A total win-win in my books! I highly recommend the Melitta Pour Over Coffee Maker to everyone who loves coffee, and wants a simple way to make coffee on a regular basis.
When I first got the Melitta pour over system I thought it looked like it was a little more difficult than it was worth but my feelings automatically changes when I opened it up and gave it a try. As simple as boiling a pot of water, I can have a single cup for both myself and hubby made in a matter of minutes!
I am the only coffee drinker in this house, so I especially appreciate the opportunity to brew an individual cup for myself. The pour-over method is quick and easy, with minimal clean up required, and - most importantly - it brews a great tasting cup of coffee.
This is the first time I have ever heard about a single cup pour over coffee. I love making my morning coffee using the Melitta Pour Over Coffee Maker. It doesn't take long to make. Just boil your water and pour it over and you have a great cup of coffee every time.
Super easy to use and the coffee tastes amazing! #MakeItMelitta
I'll admit I was a little hesitant going back to the "drip" way of brewing my morning coffee. I've gotten so used to using k-cup brewing systems being so quick and hassle free. Not having to worry about replacement papers filters). But I was pleasantly surprised using the Melitta Pour-over Brewer. My coffee was so much more flavorful that it usually is! I actually forgot how great tasting drip coffee is!
Absolutely loving the Melitta pourover brewer! It's super easy to use and the coffee tastes amazing! This was my first time trying pour-over coffee and Melitta beans/grounds. Despite having a few more steps in the morning to brew a fresh cup of coffee, it's a super quick way to brew a single cup of coffee and cleans up easily. It's so worth it! Melitta, you may have just worked your magic with this one. I'm seriously considering going back to drip brewing my morning coffee!
I can't say enough about how easy it is to make an excellent cup of coffee! I'm in love with the Pour-Over coffee. I made a cup to take to my son's hockey practice and got comments on how good my coffee smelled when I walked into the dressing room. The key to the perfect cup is boiling water and fresh grounds. Once you have a cup you'll never go back to your old way of brewing.
Freshly ground coffee made in a pour-over maker is the best darn cup of coffee I have ever had. First for me and I don't think I can go back to making it any other way. Aside from the taste, this maker speaks to the minimalist in me. I LOVE that I don't have to keep a clunky coffee maker on my counter anymore. I can rinse it off and tuck it away into the cupboard to keep my counters clutter free. It's also incredibly easy to use. In the future I would like to see an optional attachment of a reusable filter that can be rinsed and put away with the maker.
The Melita Pour Over Coffeemaker was a breeze to use but my favourite part of it is that I can make a great cup of coffee for one person. I didn't need to brew a whole a pot when I was needing one last cup to get me to the end of my day. I have only to grab my favourite roast coffee grounds and boil a kettle of water and before you know it, coffee is ready. What a life /sanity saver!
I'll admit it took me a little bit to figure out what worked best for me. One cup was too watery and one too strong. Like Goldilocks, I found the one that was just right. Such an easy, simple, and fast way to make a good cup of coffee! I can see this being great for dorms or small kitchens. It fits standard size mugs, I only had one mug (that has a tapered shape) that it didn't work with. A great addition to my kitchen!
This was my first time trying pour-over coffee and Melitta beans/grounds. I was surprised at how good it was! I even used the grounds in a regular coffee maker after and while good, it paled in comparison to making using the pour-over method. I like the convenience and portability of the maker and am seriously excited to bring it camping next summer. It's going to make my life a lot easier. The only thing I don't like, which honestly I don't think can't be avoided, is the residual dripping after you remove the maker from your cup. You need to get it into the sink or on top of a paper towel after you use it, then once you're sure all the moisture is gone and it has cooled down, you can put the filter in the garbage and wash the maker. Cleaning it was super easy!
Melittas pour over coffee maker just made my life a whole lot easier. Like most over worked sleep deprived humans I thrive on coffee, it’s basically a food group and I need it to get me through the chores, deadlines and multiple parenting demands that come at me daily. The Melitta Pour Over coffee maker is my new favorite way to get a quick cuppa joe on the go. It’s perfect for when you don’t want to make a full pot or if you’re like me and like your coffee fresh. All you need to do is boil water and pour. This is also the first time I’ve tried Melitta coffee and as a coffee snob I was pleasantly surprised by the dark rich blend and may be starting (and ending) my day with it from now on.
If you are a coffee connoisseur, they you will love this product!
The Melitta Pour-Over takes all the delicious flavour you get from traditional drip coffee, and combines it with the convenience of one-cup brewing! No more wasted pots or tossed out pods - just delicious Java!
The one downside is, if you're in a hurry, doing the pour-over does take a few mins longer than a single-serve pod. But if you're serious about your coffee, it's worth the wait!
Coffee is what gives me life, so I am well versed in the whole pour-over process! What I love most about pour-overs is you can easily brew a single cup of coffee... which is important in a household like mine where there is only one coffee drinker! The Melitta coffee itself is rich and flavourful; the pour-over gives it just enough time to bloom and steep making for a very fresh and fragrant cup of coffee. One little tip I'd like to share with those who use the Melitta natural coffee filters... before adding the coffee grounds, I like to pour hot water through my filter and pour-over. I've found this helps take away the papery taste from the filters. Lastly, the only downside to this particular pour-over is that it is made of plastic; I prefer ceramic. That said, it doesn't alter the flavour and it works just as well as the ceramic ones I use regularly.
As a kid, my dad only made pour-over coffee at home, using fresh ground beans. It's just what I was used to. Now as an adult, I don't drink coffee every day, but when I do I'm the only one so a whole pot just doesn't make sense. I love my Melitta coffee brewer because it's so simple to make a single cup with no waste. Especially as an occasional coffee drinker, I prefer not to waste counter space with a big coffee machine. This little brewer fits easily in my cupboard, and clean up is easier too. I also really appreciate that the filter and grounds are compostable in my green bin!
Pro tip - give the filter a quick rinse with hot water before putting in the coffee to get rid of any papery taste.
When all you have to wait for is the kettle to boil.
This morning I had limited time to wake up, get ready, & enjoy a cup of coffee. To be honest, it's been the same for most mornings. Now that I've got the Pour Over Coffeemaker from Melitta, my mission for that first sip has become so much easier. Good coffee, a quick pour, & very little clean up. I love the fact that there's little to store away & no pot needed to fill up my cup or thermos each day. Boil water, add a few scoops, pour over & enjoy. Easy!
I live in a household with more than a couple coffee lovers you can bet we have tried them all. But the one brand that we always come back to and agree on in terms of quality and comforting taste is Melitta. Their new Noir has a huge amount of flavor and a nice deep body that I love first thing in the morning before the kids wake up. Being able to take my coffee experience up a notch with their pour over coffee maker they sent has really added to its smooth and creamy consistency. It is not only fast but honestly the better way to enjoy your morning coffee, with the purest and easiest method. Making my coffee this way also helps me save coffee, instead of making a whole pot that I can't possibly get through I can make each cup when I want it. Making sure my coffee is always at its best and at its hottest. Thanks to Melitta I will be spoiled with great coffee that doesn't get cold before I can get to it!
Quick, Hassle-Free, Delicious Cup of Coffee Made with Melitta Pour-Over CoffeeMaker
Making a quick and delicious cup of coffee is easier than you think. Melitta invented the Pour-Over method over 100 years ago and with the Melitta Pour-Over Coffee Maker you can craft a superior cup of coffee very quickly. I recently received the Melitta Signature Series 1-Cup Pour-Over Coffeemaker to try out. Here are my thoughts.
The Coffee-Maker may appear simple but it actually has some design features to help make the ideal cup of coffee. To start, it is made with Tritan™ Copolyester, is BPA-free and top-rack dishwasher safe. It has a very clear, glass-like appearance so you can monitor the brewing process. The Coffee-Maker has a medium-size drip opening to provide consistent brew and eliminates risk of bitterness. There is also a ring underneath the drip opening that directs coffee flow into mug and prevents runoff. Full-height ridges within cone are meant to provide optimal flavor extraction and two viewing holes prevent overflow. The Coffee-Maker came with a starter pack of #4 Melitta cone coffee filters.
I liked how the process is very low-tech: all you need is the Melitta Pour-Over Coffee Maker, a cup, a kettle for hot water, and the Melitta cone coffee filter. As long as you have the ability to get hot water, the Pour-Over method with Melitta is very feasible at home, at work or even if you're camping.
How It Works
1. Place the Pour-Over cone on top of mug, insert Melitta cone coffee filter
2. Scoop in your favorite fresh ground coffee to taste
3. Pour hot water (just off the boil) into the cone, fully saturating all grounds
If we want to get technical, you might just want to let your coffee "bloom" in order to improve the flavour profile. What you would do in the beginning is to simply pour some water on fresh coffee grounds, and give them 30 - 40 seconds to bubble up. Blooming means letting carbon dioxide escape from the coffee. Once the bloom is over, continue with the rest of the brewing process.
I found the resulting cup of coffee using the Melitta Pour-Over Coffeemaker to be very smooth and flavourful. The process itself was hassle-free and wasn't messy at all. I would recommend it to others who want a simple, fast and delicious cup of coffee.
I had never tried pour over coffee until Melitta generously sent me this product to try. I was amazed! I loved how easy it was to make a single cup of coffee. I'm the only one in the house who drinks coffee but I love brewed coffee (not those pods!) so I love that I don't have to make a whole pot. And the coffee is delicious! Strong, dark & full of bold flavour. This is a must have for all coffee lovers!
I'm not a fan of coffee machines in general so I was skeptical about this method of brewing. Turns out it's pretty good! What I like about it is that each cup is fresh, it doesn't have time to sit in a pot and get stale - it doesn't have that 'coffee machine' taste. The Melitta Dark Roast coffee is good - my husband loves it. I prefer to grind my own and the Medium Roast beans have been excellent.
Plus I like that I can control how strong or weak I want it. As a bonus, I'm really impressed by the bamboo filter papers - nothing like 'sustainable' to make coffee taste better.
Best part of this nifty little pour over coffee maker is that it's portable so I can take it with me when I travel - I never trust those machines in the hotel rooms! Yay! Thanks Melitta!
I have to admit I have never tried pour over coffee before I thought it was long and complicated but after having the chance to do it I have to say it was well worth it. I am not a huge coffee drinker so I am not vastly knowledgeable when it comes to coffee, beans etc and tend to prefer to do it in a coffee pot until now.
In the past I usually make a pot in the morning to get me through the day and we all know that sitting coffee and reheating it is blah so being able to make a cup when I need it was fantastic without it being an instant coffee.
I did notice the difference in the taste of doing it in the coffee pot and doing a pour over and I have to say I am preferring the pour over method because it tasted fresher and a little more intense then doing it via the pot method.
I was provided with two kinds of coffee for my review. The bold (which i have to say just until recently I started to like. I love the flavor now) and a bag of whole bean (love the smell of the beans and as you grind it the smell is beautiful)
I do have to say having the whole bean verses the ground all ready done I have to go with the whole bean.
What a quick and easy way to brew a fresh cuppa joe! I've been loving Melitta's Pour-Over Coffemaker with their dark and medium roast coffee. Their coffee is so fresh that the scent alone is hypnotising! I like that it's super fresh and I can customize the strength of my coffee and make a cup in seconds. So easy, so delicious. And, no guilt since recent research keeps finding more and more health benefits of drinking coffee, including heart health! I'm in!
I have to admit that I was pretty hesitant about this method of brewing. I thought that the water wouldn't have a chance to properly absorb flavour from the grounds before it filtered into the cup. I was wrong, and shocked by just how good my cup of coffee was using the pour-over brewing method.
Best of all, I didn't need any more coffee than I would normally use to brew a single cup of coffee. And the process was almost as quick and easy as using my favourite single-cup brewer. (It just added the extra step of boiling water first.) And the flavour of my finished cup of coffee was absolutely fabulous. For anyone that doesn't want the expense of a pod-style single-serve brewer, this is the perfect solution.
I’ve tried making pour over coffee using a coffee press before but it was always fiddly and messy. I can’t believe how easy this is to use and how yummy the coffee turns out every time. I also love that it’s so compact and easy to store away.
This is my first experience using @MelittaCanada Pour Over Coffee Maker. I found it just as convenient and fast as making a cup of instant coffee but it had all the richness and full flavor as if I had used my coffee brewing system. It is a very robust and satisfying cup of coffee. It is a lovely way to start my morning. I am a coffee lover and I drink anywhere from 4 to 6 cups of coffee a day. So this #MakeItMelitta can let me have the perfect cup of coffee anytime of day or evening. I also had my mom and my aunt over for brunch and I shared with them my new @MelittaCanada Pour Over Coffee Maker. They were both amazed at how easy and quick it worked. My aunt dislikes instant coffee she will only drink freshly brewed coffee. Both my mom and aunt were surprised just how tasty this coffee was. This NEW @MelittaCanada Pour Over Coffee Maker is a coffee lover's dream. I will definitely be switching over from my usual brand to @MelittaCoffee , buying and using my @MelittaCanada Pour Over Coffee Maker again and again. Thank You so much @MelittaCanada and @CrowdSocial for letting me be a home tester #gotitfree #MakeItMelitta #ad. & Campaign. Honestly the best cup of coffee I have ever tasted !
The pour-over coffeemaker makes it so simple for you to handcraft your very own cup of coffee ... all you need is your favourite coffee and hot water. It’s a great way to bring out all the flavours, all while you’re watching the coffee drip into your favourite mug.
The pour-over way is how my grandpa made his coffee, so it brought back so many memories
Mornings Are Convenient and Super Charged With Flavour
I really enjoyed the robust flavour of the Melitta Dark Roast coffee and using it paired with the Pour Over coffeemaker. I've never used (or seen one for that matter!) a device like this before and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use. I love that I can tailor the coffee to my taste (add as much or as little grinds to the Pour Over) and that I don't have to make a big pot when it's just for myself. I am a stay at home mom and this is absolutely perfect for me -- especially for those on the go mornings and even for in the afternoon. It fit on top of the mugs I use and was sturdy.
I would recommend this to others - great stocking stuffer!
Coffee is a huge treat for me so I really like to make it count when I sit down to a cup. Traditional coffee makers scare me so when I started using the Melitta pour over method a few years ago, I couldn't believe that I could have a traditional cuppa Joe just by literally pouring hot water over coffee grounds! The flavour is so intense and satisfying as if I had a freshly brewed coffee and is SO EASY to use!
I've always wanted to try Pour-Over coffee and Melitta makes a great set for those like me who want to dabble in the method but aren't quite sure how. I will say that while the set is simple (just a cone and filter system), it wasn't as easy to use as I thought. My first cup of coffee turned out terrible because I poured the water in too fast... instead, you actually need to go slowly and circle around with your pour. Overall, it's a fun weekend routine if you've got some time but I personally prefer my French press.
I had some trial and error while trying out the Pour Over coffeemaker from Melitta but finally managed to get the measurements right for the perfect cup for me. I love that I can enjoy 1 cup in the evening without making a pot and its so easy to use.
Coffee is my life, and Melitta just made my mornings much easier!
As much as I love the convenience of coffee pods, I don't love the environmental waste. Coffee pots take forever and often make way more than I need and drive thru coffee runs add up quickly! When I was asked to review the Melitta Pour Over, I was definitely intrigued!
The Melitta Pour Over is super easy to use, pop a (compostable!) paper filter inside, place the Pour Over unit over your favourite mug and scoop in your preferred amount of coffee. Pour hot water over and within a minute you have fresh brewed delicious coffee, without a large amount of waste, with just the right coffee taste for your personal preference. Clean up is super easy, a quick rinse or top shelf dishwasher and you're good to go!
I've really enjoyed using it this past week and have already converted my husband the pod lover over to making his own pour over coffee, this is definitely a product we'll continue to use around our home.
I love having this in my house because I can literally make a cup of coffee as easily as boiling a kettle. Sometimes I find it easier and cheaper than using those k-cup things for coffee. I love that it can make any size cup of coffee and brewed just the way I want.
I had never seen this method of coffee before but thought it was neat and convenient for making a single cup. I took the whole bean coffee to work with me because I don't own and grinder and kept the ground coffee for myself. The ground coffee was delicious and it's super easy to make, only downside to the pour over is it's not as easy to make a lot of coffee. The whole bean coffee was a hit in the office, I think a new favourite.
My husband and I have tried several methods of making coffee over the past ten years. I have to say, I think the Melitta pour-over method is the easiest! It reminded me of how my grandma made her coffee, way back when I was a kid too young to drink coffee. My pour-over coffee maker is a bit snazzier than hers, and it still makes a great cup of coffee! It's smaller to store than a big percolator coffee machine, but brews a pot of coffee if we're having friends over (or if my hubby is trying to fill his thermos before going out for the day).
I hate the pod coffee machines. I find the coffee doesn't taste very good, and there is such an environmental waste. I was so happy to get to test the new Melitta Pour Over coffee system. Each morning I set out my coffee, put the holder on top of my mug with a filter, added coffee, and added boiling water. It was done and ready by the time I finished packing school lunches. This would be perfect for camping, too. The holder is good for any sized mug and sits sturdily on top. Everything is compostable. Quick. Easy. Environmentally friendly. I like it.
Yes, we're coffee snobs. Food snobs, hotel snobs, but well I'm here living and breathing I want to enjoy quality in my favorite things. Pour over coffee is perfect for single cups of coffee. I don't always need a pot of coffee freshly brewed. Freshly Melitta ground coffee beans slowly dripped into rich, velvet and smooth, perfect cuppa for one! It's so rewarding to mindfully watch the process of pour over coffee form before your eyes. I think the Melitta pour over coffeemaker would make an excellent gift this season. Excuse me well I pour the perfect cuppa.
Wasn't sure what to expect with the pour over coffee from Melitta, but enjoyed the convenience of being able to make a great cup of coffee one cup at a time without the use of a machine or pods. It is extremely easy to use and even easier to clean. It is an inexpensive way to enjoy a single cup of coffee each day, especially if not everyone in the house drinks coffee. I also like how portable it is, so you can easily take it travelling or to work. Once you use it a couple times, it's easy to get the hang of it and make a great single cup of coffee for ones self!
I was sent the Melitta Pour over coffeemaker to review and, although it’s not perfect, it’s close. It works as intended, however, I found the filter was a bit finicky to handle. Pay attention to what you are doing and you will have no issue. It’s great to be able to brew a cup for yourself or a guest without going through a lot of work. #MakeItMelitta #ad #Crowdsocial
I really enjoyed using the coffeemaker to make iced coffee as well as hot brew! The coffee itself was tasty and rich, and the coffeemaker was extremely easy to use. It's great for when we have guests who drink coffee to make them a single cup. Great product!
